| SurprisingI borrowed this book from the local library to help me study for the SAT II math IIC. After finishing the first two practice tests, I must say that I thought this book was complete rubbish. The practice tests did not seem indicative of the SAT at all (they contained so many of the same type of questions). The answer key did not provide detailed, step-by-step explanations. Basically, after correcting my practice tests, I was still as unclear on the questions that I left blank as I was when I took the actual test. I found myself memorizing how to answer a certain type of question instead of understanding what I was doing and why. In fact, as I was studying for the SAT II, I decided to review with the online sparknotes review. It's free (no practice tests though) and has very thorough explanations and examples. The questions from sparknotes are much more indicative of the actual SAT II. After taking the test however, I must say that I was very surprised and felt extremely well-prepared. I suppose this book operates on the principle that if you prepare for something by thinking it'll be impossible, it'll turn out to be easy. If you are fairly good at math, I would consider reviewing (only partially) with this book and trying to get as good of a score as possible. Just remember that the scores you get on practice tests from here are NOTHING like what you will get on the actual SAT II.
